a distinguished musical instrument in Punjab section. It is basically Punjabi folk musical instrument but in Madhya Pradesh it is also famous during staging of various folk dances and music.
Algoza is also known as the name of ‘Jori’ and ‘ngoza’ in Rajasthan and Punjab. This is a musical instrument which is not only famous in Madhya Pradesh but also well known in Rajasthan region.
Algoza is a two wooden made flute and each of the flutes has some holes itself. The player or expertise of algoza uses three fingers to each side of the flute. This instrument creates sounds with the breathing of player and the movement of fingers on holes of flutes.
It is a very unique and critical type of musical instrument. But the melody of sound generated by this musical instrument attracts people to listen the music and song. Most of the Rajasthani songs also use this musical instrument. Algoza is a ritual musical instrument too; it’s also plays during the appearance of a mixture of religious songs and music.
Algoza in Madhya Pradesh on the occasion of various folk and cultural ceremonies and festival too plays with the beautiful music and songs.
