Man Playing Pungi
Been is a wind musical instrument find in our country India. The Been played by snake charmer in throughout India.
Been is also known as a name of Pungi. Another musical instrument Shehnai is an improved musical instrument of Pungi.
In ancient time Pungi developed for Indian folk music and it is a major part of religious thoughts of people and folk ceremonies. A been made by dried bottle gourd. The neck of the gourd has to carve and to different side two bamboo pipes have to connect. One of the pipes has seven holes and other one is for drone.
Been is mostly uses by snake charmers in Rajasthan. It is a very famous musical instrument for Rajasthani Kalbeliyai dance. Kalbeliai dance is a folk dance of Rajasthan in which female dancer move their body with the rhythm of this musical instrument Pungi. It is also very usable musical instrument on various snake dances in Rajasthan. Kalbeliya is a tribe which always moves from one place to another for their job so they spread out this culture in all over the Rajasthan.
