Bharata Natyam:

Bharata Natyam is one of a fabulous folk art of Tamil Nadu Bharata natyam originated in this sate. This folk art is a reconstruction of a beautiful temple dance ‘Cathir’. Cathir is an ancient dance of this sate. Bharata natyam is also a national dance ofIndiawhich is very famous in all over the world. In Tamil Nadu, a place ‘Thanjavoor’ is famous for originating this folk art. It is a classical dance ofIndia. In ancient time this folk dance was known as a name of “Daasiyattam” due to it was presented by Devdassiyas in Tamil Nadu. Bharata Natyam is based on three important concept raga (rhythm), bhava (expression) and thala (music mode).

In Tamil Nadu bharata natyam is also known as a fifth Veda of folk classical music. This folk art is a way to measure soul presentation in front of lord. It is a hunt of individual soul and unites in supreme power of the world. To play this beautiful musical folk art dancers have to maintain rhythm tic and systematic movements of full body. They have to beautifully move their hands with feet. Dancers of this folk art have to follow a sequence of Alarippu’, ‘Jathiswaram’, ‘Sabdam’,  ‘Varnam’, ‘Padam’ and ‘Thillana’. This folk dance ends with ‘Mangala Slokam’. ‘Mangala Slokam’ is last step of Bharata Natyam.
