Bihu Dance

Assam is the state of blue mountains and red rivers which make this state one of the most beautiful and gorgeous state of India to tour it for watching the natural elements of the world. Assam is also a getaway of the northern part of India. Bihu dance is a form of dance which has a high good will. It is the national folk dance of this state. It is the one of most popular and well known dance form of the state which followed by the various communities of Assam. Bihu is the celebration of joy and harvesting in the Assam state. This not only a dance but it is also a part of the life of the people of Assam. It is one of the most famous and colorful dance forms of the India.

Bihu dance has three major forms in Assam. Bhogali Bihu or Magha Bihu festival celebrated during the winter time. Rangoli Bihu or Bihag Bihu celebrated during the spring time in Assam while Kati Bihu or Kangali Bihu celebrated during the season of autumn in Assam. Bihu festivals are the sign of entertaininment and happiness for the youth of Assam.

Bihu dance is the time of fiesta of agriculture in Assam. People worshipped that time to their mother goddess for batter fortune and good harvesting during the cultivation seasons of Assam.
