Chaitra festival dance is a popular folk dance of Madhya Pradesh. This is a folk dance of Gond tribe of Madhya Pradesh. This tribe is residing in Baster district of Madhya Pradesh. This folk dance is performing during the chaitra festival in Gond tribal areas of the state. This is a folk dance which performs by this tribe Gond for thanking to god for rains already done. During chaitra festival Gond tribe perform this folk dance for worship their local deity and wishes to good crops in future.

This folk dance performs by both male and female dancers of community. In this folk dance there is no need for any expertise. This is a simple folk dance. Both male and female participate in this folk dance with colorful cloths. Women dances with wearing of especial patterns of jewelries. They wore jewelry making of pearls and shells. All the dances moves in a row or a circle or in a semi circle. They move with holding wrist of each other. They move with the rhythm of music. The musical instruments uses during this dance performance are dholak, nagada, shehnai, tapir and timaki. They also play other wind musical instrument like kohuk and singha.
