Cheraw Dance is a very famous folk dance of Darlong community of Tripura. It is a very charming dance of Tripura. People of darlong tribe perform this folk dance in front of pregnant women. According to darlong people this is a painful time for pregnant women who are ready to birth children. They belief that if a pregnant women dies during this delivery time she will go to heaven. Cheraw Dance performs by them to relief her from her pain.

Cheraw Dance is a magical folk dance of this community. Nearest relatives of pregnant women performed this folk dance in front for her before delivery. They present this dance art with playing of sticks in their hands. Collectively uses of those sticks create a rhythm tic sound. Sound of those sticks is so beautiful for each listener. They perform this folk dance to minimize tension and pain of pregnant women. They also worship through this folk dance for batter fortune in delivery case. Relatives try to increase the level of confidence of women through this exquisite art of darlong community.
