Chongpreng Musical Instrument of Tripura:

Chongpreng is another very beautiful musical instrument of Tripura. Chongpreng is a bamboo made musical instrument of the state. It is a very famous traditional instrument which also known as a lute instrument of Tripura. Chongpreng is a chord phonic lute which is an important organ of communities of Tripura. Chongpreng is a one of the most usable and most popular musical instrument of Tripura which is an important part of various occasion and festivals of tribes.

In making of Chongpreng there are three parts plays important role. First is Resonator, it is an efficient part of this musical instrument. Chongpreng resonator is a hollow wood which covered with goat skin. Second is Belly which is a major part of this instrument. Third is a Bridge which connects the resonator to the belly of Chongpreng. Some of strings are attached with this instrument to create rhythm tic sound.

A player of this beautiful musical instrument uses his fingers on strings for beautiful rhythm. During performances of various folk musical shows with folk songs and folk dance Chongpreng use as an important part in tribal regions of Tripura. In family occasion for performance of traditional dances with song Chongpreng plays a major role too.
