Dhol is a form of musical instruments of various folk songs and various folk dances related to the different communities from all states of India. In Assam this musical instrument is most using musical instrument during the performance of various dances and songs. The fairs and festival can not be completed without the folk and religious music and dance. The entire major religious occasions of this state are celebrated by the people by organizing the folk dances and folk music.
Dhol is a double sided wooden made musical instrument which covered by the skin of animals from the both side. It is the musical instrument which can be played by an expertise of any common person who wants to play it but usually during the festival it performed by the expertise people. Bihu festival of Assam is the most famous festival of this state which celebrated three seasonable time in a year that are spring season, winter season and autumn season. It is also an essential part of other communities of other states like in Punjab it is famous during the performance of Bhangara dance of Sikhs. Without it Punjabi can not image the form of Bhangara during the festivals and marriage occasions.
