Entertaining Buiya Dance of Arunachal

Arunachal is a land of joy and entertain through it’s a delightful folk culture and tradition. It is the land of melodious folk dances and folk music. The Buiya Dance is one of them. This is the unique dance pattern of Arunachal Pradesh performed by a mysterious tribe of this state named Digaru Mishmi. Thus, this dance style is known as Digaru Mishmi Buiya Dance of Arunachal Pradesh too.

The Digaru Mishmi Buiya Dance we can see on various festival of this unique tribe. The main festivals are Tanuya, Duiya and Tazampu famous for the performance of this Buiya Dance in Arunachal Pradesh.

The Buiya dance of Arunachal Pradesh major has two types of basic movements and it is the folk dance which organizes mainly for an entertainment of this tribe. The buiya dance is arranged a batter luck, batter prosperity and for the good health of the performer and the households. In this dance performance both male and female dancers can participate. There is no age limit for participation to perform this dance.

There is no distinct dancing style to perform the Buiya dance but in general both male and female dancers are move with the rhythm of the song by maintaining their partners’ movement. The male dancer participate with dressed himself by loin cloths, a jacket, earring and a turban while in other side women dressed herself by long skirt, blouse and a side bag. During the dance performance both male female wears lots of jewelry. The dance performance is sounding with various gongs, cymbals and drum.
